Metal injection moulded components (MIM)

Metal injection moulded components (MIM)

MIM – an (almost) limited Process

Metal injection moulding (MIM) is one of the most advanced manufacturing processes in powder metal technology. The MIM process opens up opportunities to combine materials and forms in a way previously unheard of in the design of mechanical components. Combinations of materials which were previously inconceivable can be tailor made for you by Schunk.

MIM offers you:

  • Maximum freedom with materials and geometric dimensions
  • Moulded components made of alloys normally difficult to process
  • Extremely small dimensions are possible
  • High-precision parts
  • High surface hardness – low processing necessary
